Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher will cover everything from NASA's newly-created Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts, and also an avid space fan, grew up immersed within the space industry. She spent five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Biden and Trump Administrations. In that period, she also covered two presidential impeachment trials, the 2020 presdiential campaign, and two attempts by the administration to stop the spread of coronavirus. Additionally, she went on numerous journeys with the Vice President and President of the United States and was a part of a classified trip to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Kristin was a television reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., which she won an Emmy Award for her work as the "one-man-band" reporter before joining CBS in 2015. Kristin, who is a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a company that specializes in documentaries, for companies such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Boston University. The place she lives is Washington, D.C., with her entire family, which includes their daughter, who is three years old.
